Volunteer Registration
The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) was created to strengthen and champion immigrant and refugee communities. This year, we are more prepared than ever to fight for our neighbors, families, and friends.
Join us from January 25-27 to demand your legislators to protect our immigrant and refugee communities!
We are also looking for volunteers to support making Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Days a success.
We have the following position available:
Zoom and Interpretation Tech Support (6+ needed)
Tasks: log into a zoom room and host legislator meetings, manage the zoom interpretation feature, give verbal announcements about interpretation, enter bilingual messages (pre-written) in the chat, answer questions from participants, troubleshoot any tech issues.
Preferred qualifications: proficiency with zoom or confidence in ability to learn about new zoom technology, Spanish<>English language proficiency is helpful.
Time Commitment:

Attend one 1-hour training session on Monday 1/24 at 6:30 pm-7:30 pm
Volunteer shifts:

Tuesday, Jan 25, 12 pm – 5 pm

Wednesday, Jan 26, 12 pm – 5 pm

Thursday, Jan 27, 9 am – 4 pm
Spanish<>English Consecutive interpretation (15+ needed)
Task: provide consecutive interpretation in Spanish and English in zoom during breakout rooms on the first Advocacy Day.
You will need proficiency with Spanish and English, experience with interpretation preferred, formally or informally. Headphones and a working computer or external microphone.
Time commitment: 30-40 minutes on January 25th, scheduled to begin at 11:20 but subject to delays.
